The Spanier’s Visit

Grandma Margaret, Grandpa Greg, Uncle Kyle, & Uncle Jared visited us for an entire week! Mauer skipped going to Bonnie’s house and stayed with the family on Thursday, Friday, and Tuesday! He got used to being REALLY spoiled! He loved to rock with Grandma and snuggle with Grandpa.

On Friday, they went to Mount St. Helen’s. Unfortunately, it the weather was pretty miserable so they did not see how awesome it was. Below are pictures from both the trip this month as well as a trip we took in 2009. The view is very different

Todd joined the crew for a tour of the Boeing Factory on Saturday. Mauer wasn’t big enough so he and I stayed in Olympia a few extra hours. He and I met up with the gang at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. It pretty much rained the entire day. Below, Kyle is putting together a 3D puzzle in the "bug" section.

Sunday, we stuck around Olympia. We went to the Farmers Market and hung out around the Sound. Again, it was cold, wet, and dreary. The girls went to the Japanese Garden, and to the Star Wars “mural.” While the boys went to hit golf balls and swing bats. We all met up for dinner and everyone (minus Mauer & me) went to see the new Shrek in 3D.

Memorial Day we were planning another trip to Seattle. The weather looked terrible- AGAIN! We even drove through downpours! Alas, the clouds parted and we saw sunshine! We were so thankful. We went up into the Space Needle, watched fish being thrown at the famous Market, and then capped the night off with an excellent baseball game. The Twins were playing the Mariners. There was a surprising amount of Twins fans at the game. Twins won!

We were able to see Ken Griffey Jr.'s last at-bat. We didn't know it at the time though!

On Tuesday, Todd and I were back to work. Grandma, Grandpa, Uncles and Mauer went to the coast. Of course, the rain returned. I think they were there for about 6.8 minutes and drove the hour-long trip home.

Kyle brought Mauer some special onsies. He made them with his screen printing/heat press machine. He's very talented and likes to create personalized attire!

We had a wonderful time but we are happy to be back in a routine. Of course, we are gearing up for visitors again on the 10th.
